Communal
A friend once told Osho, “I want you to meet my mother because she is very religious.” https://x.com/Mamtasulaniya/status/2074358203304050789
Osho replied, “Of course. I like meeting Religious people anyway.”
When Osho met his friend’s mother, she asked him, “You read a lot of books. What are you reading these days?”
Osho said, “These days, I am reading the Quran.”
Hearing this, she became upset and said, “How can you call yourself a Hindu if you read the Quran? You should read books from your own religion.”
Later, Osho told his friend, “You said your mother was religious, but she is not religious—she is communal.”
Many people today call themselves religious, but they are not truly religious; they are communal. There is a very fine line between being religious and being communal.
Always remember the difference.
